Keira Knightley used the word slippy!
Dec. 9th, 2003 10:35 pmIn the bloopers of Pirates of the Caribbean which is funny because that is one of the first British words that entered my vocabulary during my time in Wales. At Pembroke castle, our guide warned us to mind the stairs because they were slippy. Ever after, our group of Americans used that term, although I haven't heard anyone else use it. I had to replay her just to make sure.
And speaking of her, in Bend it Like Beckham when they go to the club, she is wearing the same shirt that I own, except hers is in blue and mine is in purple. I bought it at New Look when some of my friends dragged me out in an attempt to get me a "skanky ho" outfit. I nearly burst out laughing when I saw that. But contained myself. I know where they got their outfits for that movie! Or at least that one shirt.
And apparently the misinformation in the newsletter must be very bad as when I talked to the county historian, she basically said she didn't want to have anything to do with the historical society anymore. Fabulous. She was the acting executive director. But, from what I've heard about her, she really does take offense easily. And has probably scared away a good share of people from helping out with the society. But, really, a bit of misinformation in one newsletter. It was probably something about her. And, from what I've heard, hardly anyone actually reads the darn thing. But, it made me feel miserable and "all my faulty" the rest of the day.
And to top it all off, after typing up addresses for labels, which I was doing two per row, because that was how our last labels were done, our membership chair hands me labels that are three to a row. So, need to reprogram that. Fun stuff.
And after an aborted attempt to drop off the bills to the treasurer, she was not there, I have to bring them again tomorrow. I just hope my car lasts. I really do.
