I stopped by work this afternoon to see if the secretary had dropped of last month's meeting minutes, which she hadn't. I checked for voice messages and had one from the county historian. Imagine a nice thick southern drawl telling you that she hoped you hadn't finished typing up the newsletter because Joel Tyson had given me some wrong information about the Fellsmere old school. And all I can say, is that she saw me two Saturdays ago writing out addresses on the newsletter, I showed her the newsletter, she said that looked good. And, the newsletter is sent. She knew we were sending them out on Friday with the membership drive letters. So, too bad for her. Why she had to wait an extra 2 weeks to tell me it was wrong, I don't know. I'm not calling up everyone on the membership list to tell them that the information in the newsletter is wrong.

But, look, it's my friend Christine's dog, Meggie, in the icon. She is the most adorable thing ever and I get to see her in a couple weeks! She is a little lost by the massive amounts of snow, as she is short. No, I don't have snow here, but Meggie looked to cute and iconable not to do it.

Gah, have to see crazy board members in an hour. Must work on chicken parm now to make me feel better.

Today, we will be making chicken parm! This attempt at cooking something new was less sucessful than my chicken and dumplings. I managed to burn the inside of my wrist when I was pouring the hot water out of the spagetti and I also couldn't open the top to the spagetti sauce because my hands are too small. I finally managed to pry it off using a can opener. Now I know why I usually don't eat that stuff. But, in the end, it turned out to be sucessful.

My hunting and foraging session this morning was declared a sucess. I managed to get my necessary food and other stuff. I went to the bookstore and bought The Nanny for part of a friend's Christmas/Birthday present. Because, really, how can you resist a character that looks like "Ioan Gruffudd minus the breeches" as he is described in the book. For myself, I finally bought Lord of the Rings in the three in one volume because it was 30% off. I had only borrowed them from the library before. I have also started stick figure drawings for [livejournal.com profile] ladyshrew. I hope she doesn't mind if I send them by post, as I think they'll lose something online. :)

As for the board meeting, only four members showed up, so it was somewhat cancelled. Although they talked for a bit about paying for my health insurance which I would love them for life if they would pay. As, I had believed that they were going to when I came down here to work. It needs to be approved by the other board members.

This isn't going to be pretty )

ETA: How could I forget, maybe I wanted to. But at my weekly library stop, I picked out Tess of the D'Urbervilles to read. Perhaps after 6 years Tess will have grown on me. If not, I will fling the book from my hands and never read it again. And this will be the second time I have chosen to read it by choice! Scary thought, that.

Nos da!
