Or even the evening, I should think. In other words, my tour of duty with the little 3-6 year olds is finished. Well, there is one more week, but I won't be here to experience the fun that is a farewell chicken dinner/awards banquet, and aren't I sad about it?

Well, let's just say that I am more excited about that then seeing Kenny G and David Hasselhof on AI tonight. If only that kid had fallen in love with KIT instead of DH. That would have been most amusing.

I'm finding that I can read so many books when they are children's books. It takes me only about an hour or so to get through one, so I'm nearly done with book #3, or Shades of Gray tonight. I guess I'll need to make another run to the library tomorrow or Friday for some more light reads. Freedom Crossing, Summer of my German Soldier, The Secret of the Seven Crows, Ghost Abbey, Behind the Attic Wall (to see if it is really as hideous as I remember), Caddie Woodlawn, Hitty: Her First Hundred Years, and many more. I wonder if the library has any of them.

Thank goodness with all that rain it is not nearly as hot as it was yesterday.

Oh, Shades of Gray! I loved that book! And Summer of my German Soldier, although the sequel was kind of, well, unnecessary.

Here I am trying to decide if I should finish The Forsyte Saga first, or go ahead and read Maurice because I finally broke down and bought a copy.

Oh, thank goodness! I was so disappointed when I finally got my hands on the sequel to Summer of my German Soldier. It was nothing to the original.

I would suggest reading them both, but that doesn't help you any. And, I promise, that I will mail out your books tomorrow. There, you'll have lots more to read soon! If bad spy books count.

Gosh, I hope you didn't run around wild like her.

KITT, maybe? Well, the car from Knight Rider. I'm not sure what it stands for. But, that the car was the more exciting part of the show.

Well, as long as it was good times.

My friend liked to watch it during re-runs in college. I hadn't really seen it before then.

That is so unfair! Girls can do those types of things too. Gosh, you probably even beat all of those boys to a pulp on the playground.

You know, that was really the first "pro-German" WWII themed book I read as a youngster. It was so nice having a different perspective, especially as it showed how not everyone in Germany was pro-Hitler/war. Which was emphasized in some of the other books I read.

Dude, I really liked Summer of my German Soldier too!!! :-) I think that children/juvenile/"young adult" books are some of the best ever. I loved reading them. I still enjoy reading, don't get me wrong, but what I do now and have done since mid-high school is nothing compared to how much I used to read during elementary school through middle school. I guess maybe I just had way more free time and energy and desire to learn more then, I don't know. I seriously need to start reading more again, though. I've been saying that since I graduated from college, but I really am going to now. :-)
Have fun finding more great light reads at the library! :-)

Yay for children's books! One of my reading groups began reading Freedom Crossing...I thought it was pretty good - we ended up stopping the unit half way through though. And right now I'm reading Caddie Woodlawn to my kids...I enjoy it, but I don't think they really do. Oh, well...it's tough to please the up and coming generations.
