Fabulously... hot?
May. 20th, 2005 11:21 pmIt is impossibly hot in my room. Perhaps that is why I'm not in there right now. I dare not open my window, because the balcony/walkway thing is right there and I'm oh so scared that someone will climb in through my window in the middle of the night (random fear from childhood when house was broken into). So, instead, I prefer to sweat the night away, which is much better than Sweating to the Oldies with Richard Simmons believe you me. I just wish it was easier to sleep at night. Of course, there is always the air conditioner.
To my joy, my self-inflicted period of women's confinement ended today, just in time to go paddling around in the swimming pool. I haven't had that much fun since last year over at N&P. Why? Because there were no old people out there watching me like a hawk, so I could splash around and do water ballet to my heart's content. I was happy.
While in the pool, I also pondered the editorial I read about how love has killed off marriage. Why? Because according to Marriage: A History marriages were arranged for political and finacial reasons, as well as for children. Then, in the past two hundred years, they started to encourage the line, "if it is marriage you are after, love has everything to do with it". Women have also grown independent and parents can no longer sell them off to the highest bidder. See, that's my problem and why I will always be single and eaten by wild dogs. I'm just too independent and therefore, my parents can't sell me. Or at least I hope they haven't. Hmmm.
Dumb question, but, when are the Tonys being broadcasted? I think it will be when I'm home, and if that is the case, I guess I should invest in a tape and hope that we don't have any hurricanes/bad thunderstorms to knock off the power.

And I'll be taping it -- I usually don't keep everything and just copy what I want, so if you need/want, you can have my copy. :-)
