Feeling crafty again.
Mar. 15th, 2005 11:41 pmAfter reading that article about the longevity of embroidery and seeing how inspired
minkdanagin was (and considering my wrists do need a break) I think my next crafty project will be an attempt at creating something embroidered. Because it sounds neat and I want to do something different (except, notice I'm copying Mink's lead). Now all I need to do is learn Latin and I will really be on my way to improving myself the old-fashioned way.
Ruth was at work when I got there. She was waiting on a man who was bringing us a picture of when the new Barber bridge was first being constructed. It is now hung in the museum, as she had me take down the Highwayman painting that had occupied that space (which was supposed to be sold/raffled last year). I also assisted two girls with research later in the day.
The afternoon progressed with the wonderfully fun Hibiscus Festival meeting. Afterwards, I was walking out and happened to start walking next to someone (he caught up to me) and there was that ackward moment where I felt like I should say something since we were walking next to each other but I didn't really know him. So, he asked me why I never say much in the meetings. Personally, there are twenty other people in there willing to make up for the lack of my talking so one would think he would be happy that I'm not talking. But, whatever. It seems like you can never win in this world.
