I told my dad that my favorite day of the week was Monday because I liked my volunteer job the best because it actually made me happy and I like it. He just gave me a look and told me that I better get used to work because I have many, many years ahead of me. As if I didn't know that. But, is there something wrong with actually enjoying doing something? Why does he have to be so grumpy about the one thing that I actually like in my week. And really, does he have to rub in the whole "look at me! I retired at age 52 but you'll probably have to work until the day you die due to lack of retirement funds" thing? He also gleefully pointed out the lone duckling that remained saying that large fish must have eaten its siblings. Poor little duckling, so cute.

It was a slow day at the Book Depot. For the first part of my time there, I was busy arranging the audio/visual stuff in a semi-visually pleasing manner. Or what I hope was. It was rather slow, though, with hardly any donations, so I spent the last half hour wandering around the store. I won't be able to work next week, as we are going to visit my grandparents. Sadly, I found nothing to take home with me that I just had to have. Oh, but the two Celine Dion cds that we had? Well, we had the cases, but somebody must have really loved the cds and wanted to keep them. Good thing I checked.

Was stuck at work work for a good three and a half hours tonight. ::sob:: Not fair on my day off! Plus, to add to my dismay, Jack had rearranged the new exibit to his personal tastes. That's not how it's supposed to be done. This time, I refuse to back down and if he continues to move things around, I will put them back in the correct manner and will even scold him if I must. Plus, he left the shades up and open, so lots of light was getting in. I've constantly told him that light is very bad for some of the artifacts, but he just doesn't get it. I will not lose this battle of wills. So there!

For me, it really didn't seem that much like Valentine's Day. It was hardly mentioned at all, and when it was, it just meant free edible goodies to me. So, yum yum. Although, I do think it is unfair how the Catholic church took away his sainthood. Especially after all those years. Shouldn't he be all grandfathered in? Maybe why I'm not the Pope.

Taka my heart, Pope. Taka my heart.

Oo, mom comes tomorrow and dad has already yelled about the state of my room. It is my room, gosh darn it! And the only place where I have any control left in this apartment. If I want it to be slightly messy and overrun with books and yarn, so be it. Well, I'm sure one day I will go off to work and come home to find everything missing. Such is life with my parents. So looking forward to the next two weeks.

And, my dad has complained about my late night typings on the computer. So, I guess he does notice and hates me and I can't live vicariously online through everyone anymore.

Since [livejournal.com profile] tyllisium gave us songs for Valentine's Day, here is one from me.

Un Jour from Romeo et Juliette. Pre-meeting each other and obviously pre-suicide. So happy then.

Ah, it must be like the newest Snickers commercial over here that shows a dusty, dingy museum. Hey! We aren't all dry and dusty like that, I think every time I see it.

I'm glad you are willing to punch people for my sake. :)

Unfortunately museums are places where it's hard to please people, especially with the lighting. Visitors need it nice and bright to clearly see and the staff need it nice and dim to protect things so they last for years and years and years. :]
