I'm not quite sure why I even went to the audition tonight. I really, really should have brought some crocheting along to keep me company and warm. All that I did today was to sing (very ill, I thought) a bit of a Sarah song. Getting towards 9:30, the director came up to me and apologized for not having a chance to read. I told her that that was ok, since some of the other women didn't have a whole lot of chances and I had read the week before. I hope that didn't make me look like I was unwilling to read (although that part has always been my least favorite unless I get to read the guy part, which I always did for auditions for the high school shows). So, she once again told everyone to come back tomorrow. I really don't want to waste another 3 hours of my life, but Mom says that I should go. I guess I don't want to look like a prissy prima donna, eh?

But really, how can one compete when there was a girl there who brought an 8x10 glossy black and white professional picture of herself to the audition? I really can't. Or a rather operatic voice/music teacher. Of course, there was girl there named Brittany, and she did a perfect Brittany Spears pop rendition of "Memory". There's Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber rolling over in his not-quite grave right now.

It didn't help that I was feeling wretched the entire afternoon/evening. I talked to Christine and she said that it couldn't have been lunch that was giving me all sorts of food poisoning and it obviously wasn't my Cheerios for breakfast. On my way to the audition, I realized that I had eaten a cinnamon roll at Sunday School which had tasted off. I blame that. So this afternoon, instead of being productive, or even taking a nap, I worked on the blanket of doom and watched the Eloise movies for the Gavin Creel. Except, my brother called in the middle of his song and dance number. ::sigh::

Bob's blanket

So now you know that I can actually crochet. This was a blanket I made for Mink but then was handed down to Bob. So, if you ever want a homemade blanket, I'll make you one! Not that anyone would, but I figured that since I ramble on about it, you might as well see what one looked like. The scarf was so Mink could woo the boys home so they could see her blanket of the same colours. I don't think it had a good success rate, though.

I went to Panera with Melanie and Matt for lunch this afternoon and haven't eaten since. Now I'm actually hungry, but it is almost 11. Bad time to eat. Maybe... a hobnob!

Nope, I got a roll instead. Thank goodness I'm not on a low carb diet. Not as good as bagettes from France, though. I received another email from LJ today about my account and was quite amused that it was addressed to "Little Welsh Nationalist". Ah, the strange nicknames we pick for ourselves.

Ugh, board meeting tomorrow. Now that will make me not want to roll out of bed tomorrow. Except, there is the promise of books. What to pick, what to pick.

Nos da!

Well, I can always add you to the list. What colours would you like? And it's not torture, it's more of a stress relieve if anything.

I'm sorry you weren't feeling quite the thing, too. ::hugs back::

Thanks.

Blue seems to be a popular colour. At least it seems to be my favorite colour to make blankets with. Maybe you're in luck. ;)

Maybe she can be the next American Idol. Perish the thought.

Thanks. :)

AHHHHHHHHH AHHAHAHHAHA! Maybe that's it? I should try and imagine "Memory" sung by Britney Spears? *L*

You want a Britney Spears-esque American Idol singing pop "Memory"? Strange, I could try, but I guess it would be hard to send her to you.

I like that afghan a lot - do you have a shareable pattern for it?

It's really quite simple. All they are are granny squares. I did four rows of the dark blue, four of the middle blue, and two of the light blue. Which equals a nice even ten. Then, I made enough of the little blocks for 8 wide and 9 in length, or 72 total. Although, with that size, it ended up slightly large. Sewed them together and then went around the outer edge twice with the light blue to give an even look all around. I generally make things up as I go along, so I guess that is the best I can do for a pattern. If you need me to be more explicit, let me know. Oh, and I used my G-sized hook.

I think that had to be if not my favorite blanket, at least in my top three blankets I've ever made.

The blanket is truly awesome. That is so, so, so cool. I want one! But you've given me so very much already. :)

Well, if you stick around being my friend for maybe another two years, you can have one! Yes, I know that's a long time, but they do take a bit to make.

And I haven't really given you all that much, silly girl.

But you have!

And I intended to stick around anyway. There are no ulterior motives. So there.
