My life has come around full circle today. No, not really, but when I was stacking books in the True Story section, a section that I used to avoid until I discovered that that is where they stuck all of the spy stories, I came across Jack Finney's Forgotten News. I think that I can really blame my career choice at his door. If I hadn't read this book back in middle school, I wouldn't have thought about historical researcher/archives as a career choice. Well, maybe I would have come to that conclusion at a different time, at a different age, but still. This is one of those books that I've searched for for years, but it is out of print and had never seen it for sale. So, yes reader, I bought it. It was only $1, and I do think that such a career inspiring book deserves to find a space on my bookself, don't you?

I spent most of my day at the Book Depot. I really didn't have anything else really better to do, and since my time there is dwindling, why not spend more time there? It also gave me some time to talk to Heather, the new girl. She is really quite nice, and is closer to my age than the other workers there, well, she must be 17 cause she is going to be a senior in high school this year. I think if I ever have a girl, I should name her Heather. That way she will be well on her way to being a good cook. Unlike her mom.

Tonight I had the misfortune of getting slightly tipsy on the smallest amount of wine possible. I blame it on the fact that I haven't drunk anything alcoholic since last November at my cousin's wedding, and that I hadn't eaten anything all day except for some cereal this morning for breakfast. But, while cooking dinner I was rather thirsty, and instead of pouring out a glass of milk like a good girl I somehow reached for the open wine bottle that my parents had left in the fridge from when they were last here. Not very much, but apparently enough to make me feel it. Yuck. And the wine wasn't all to my liking, either.

The house is sold, and my parents' phone isn't hooked up yet. At least mom left the cell phone on! Very rare for her, though I admit that I usually don't have mine on, either.
