My cd player here has rejected my Scarlet Pimpernel and 1776 cds and I don't really know why. It just won't play them. At least my cd player at home only eats them, but still plays them. So instead of listening to "Slice, come paradise" I am listening to La Boheme. Just not the same.

It is cold outside! My fingers have shrunk down so my "Virtutem forma decorat" ring now fits on my middle and index fingers in addition to my ring finger. Makes me especially glad that I didn't invest in the "Think of Me" ring at The Folger Museum because I tried on the smallest size they had, a 6, and it fit like a 7 cause it went on all my fingers. So, I got the ring I have now, instead. From the National Gallery of Art. That was the day I saw 1776

After our Christmas show they have us stand out in the foyer as people leave the building. Nothing is more lonely than having everyone else around you all chummy and talking to each other because they know everyone, and you know nobody.

And I ask myself, much like Jane Eyre, "Why am I so restless?"

And a funny thing, as I was driving home tonight, I realized that a several houses had on their roofs words spelt out with Christmas lights. I haven't seen this before, but then I realized that down here, they could do that. Because of no snow.

Oh, and a guy at the museum asked me a question and I didn't know. So I told him that I had only recently moved here, so I didn't know. And he asked where I was from, so I said New York. Then he said, Oh, I can hear it in your accent. Right, my New York accent, rather my almost Canadian accent, eh? But, I just smiled and nodded. Better that way.

And, for [livejournal.com profile] ladyshrew something classical from the archives. The writer wrote, "I don't like playing Zantippe to Socrates. So you must be a good correspondent in the future and behave accordingly."

Nos da!

1) I challenge myself to finish my bodice for my Regency dress. I'm sick of seeing all the pieces spread out over my dining room table. This will get done, or else. Then, I can work on something else. I don't know what else, but something that is not Regency Era.

2) I will not pick at or cut my nails. Since my mom is giving me a manicure as a Christmas present (a waste of money, I feel) I must have my nails longer. The lady scoffed at me the last time because of my lack of nails. Hey! I was raised to have short nails thanks to playing the piano, not to mention I pick at them when I'm bored or tired.

3) I will buy christmas cards, and write them, too. As well as finish up buying rest of presents and sending them to the appropriate people. Oh, and two birthday cards, just because I'm nice.

4) Toothpaste. Some people may feel it is vital for me to buy this.

5) A car appointment for my wonderful car. Best to spend the money and not have the light anymore. Even if it seems the car is running just fine. Best to be safe.

6) Finish horse cross stich, which is a present.

So little to do in so much time. Wait, switch that. So much to do in so little time.

I will finish bodice, I will finish bodice, I will finish bodice...
